Mine is an import and i believe they are all built in the same factory in France. Mine is full UK spec and was just sent to Spain before i got it shpped back to UK

I insisted that Peugeot provide a UK Manual and Service book, so im not sure how you would tell unless told, or saw the receipt (Its in Pesetas)

Some (Often smaller )dealers are funny because its not listed on the UK Dealers car lists, but i got Peugeot to add mine and had the brake pin recall notice etc....

Gave Peugeot UK a real headache with under warranty issues but from what i see anyone who has problems seems to get into this level.....only the usual problems squeaky brakes, roof alignment....etc

I have got an import (originally registered in Spain) and think it is great! The manual is in english and it meant I got a newer car for the money. Dont be put off by garages saying dont go for imports - they are probably only saying that because they cant supply you with one! Make sure if you do go for an import that it is a UK spec one as mine is. Good luck! Will be selling mine soon to get a 307cc if you are interested?

I suspect the OP has either bought one or given up by now, seeing as this thread you've dredged up is 15 months old! :D

If something looks too good to be true, it usually is. However, if it's straight then buy it! Even if you hate the colour, a decent respray can be had for <£2000.

As Lyndon says, UK car and not an import.

The Z's imported are different from UK Z's which is why I didn't consider that route for a minute. An imported Pug is a different matter.

The ZR cost £26,350 at the time, £27,375 today due to list price increases.

That's because an imported Pug is a "parellel import", imported from another EU member state, so it has EC type approval. An imported Z is a "grey import", imported from Japan, often a different spec, and requires an SVA test.

If you could source a Z from another EU member state, you'd be in the same position as having an imported Pug. But I'm not sure they sell them elsewhere in the EU?

Just a bit of info-
Virgin Cars (DC Cook Direct) which have now ceased trading, imported all their CC's from Cyprus.

You lose money on every car import or not. I lost nearly £10k on a 206CC which I owned for 32 months.

And I was lucky it wasn't more because I would not have paid £10k for it.

I bought my Impreza WRX from Motorpoint for £15,300 on the road. The car is imported from Cyprus. After I recieved the service book all I had to do was register the car with Subaru UK. I now have a full three years pan european warranty, and I have saved just short of 5 grand on uk Subaru dealer price. I dont think the value between my import and a UK sourced car will be 5 grand in 2 years time.
