A recent copy of What Car? rates the 1.6 above the 2.0 Can anyone tell me why, or let me know of their experiences of the comparison? Also, I am thinking about Cherry Red.....how many of those are about? I haven't seen one this colour yet. Do they look ok?

Yes, I seem to remember that. I think it was mainly due to more competatively priced 1.6. However, I went for the 2 litre which seems more popular because of the performance though it has a high insurance (17) rating.

Whoops, my rating is 67 not 17. I was told that 67 represents a figure calculated differently under my particular insurance company 17 was for the 230 SLK.

I've yet to see a Cherry Red CC in either spec, but i'm sure it would look smashing and a colour i'm seriously considering for my next CC.

Cherry Red is surprisingly very nice in the CC.
I wasn't sure about it after seeing a normal 206 in cherry red but the CC suits it well.
Also the bonus is there aren't that many about!

Thanks guys for the advice. I went for a Job interview yesterday, and if I get it, I shall walk straight into a Peugeot Dealership and make that purchase!!!!

Nice one - well if you can, I'd go for the 2 ltr with leather, not that much extra if its in your budget when you consider the difference in performance and comfort, you won't regret it.

I looked at the cost of tricking up the 1.6 with sports pack and alloys and it came out to not much less than the 2.0l, so I went with the 2.0l. And worried about the insurance later!

get the 2.0. i initially considered the 1.6 due to insurance but i would never get a car like a CC with wheel trims so once you start adding them and sports pack etc.. you are as cheap getting a 2.0 as pauline said.

I'm a bit confused about the reds. There's cherry red and diablo red, right? Which is which? Is diablo the brighter one like in the "PEUGEOT 206 CC FORUM" title at the top of this page, or is that cherry? And is the other one a darker red like a red wine?
MMMMMmmmmm Diablo!!!!!! :D :D

Cherry red is non-metallic like a bit like a pillar box sort of bog standard red and Diablo red is darker and I think metallic. You can't get cc's in this country in Diablo though.

Thanks Burge! The first one I ever saw on the road here was the darker red (diablo) and I love it. Haven't seen a cherry yet but I think you can get both here.
