Hi people,
I am looking at buying a 206cc on import, and I need some help answering my questions:
1) Although all the importers quote a 2002 spec. car, none of the cars are listed as having Auto. Headlights and Rain Sensitive Wipers. Are these not on imported cars?
2) Is the Red/Black leather combo available on imports?
3) Who is the best importer, in your opinion, as I'm stuck for which one to choose! (Tell me your success/horror stories please!!)
Thanks,
Craig

Hi Craig,
I imported my car, and here are some answers to your questions...
1) My imported car has light and rain sensors, check with whoever you order from that this will be the case on yours, but it should have them.
2) I have had black leather seats put in my car, I don't think there is any reason why you can't get your choice, just as you would if you ordered in the UK.
3) I imported using a small company called springwell. They are based in Leeds, I have been to their premises to check that it isn't some dodgy garage and it isn't. They got exactly what I wanted, and I made a big saving. The car was delivered to my door.
Things to note are: You only pay springwell their fee. The deposit and balance for th car get paid directly to the dealer's bank account. This is good cos you know they aren't gonna do a runner with your cash.
Also, they are a bit slack on keeping you informed. I found I was calling them more than the other way round, but it got here when they said it would, for the price quoted, and it's great.
If you want to look them up they have a web page, I think it's http://www.springwellcarimports.co.uk/, but if not do a google search. Ask for Adrian, and if you want, mention that you heard of them from Josh Handel (me). Mine was the first cc that he had imported, so he'll probably remember me.
Hope that helps,
Josh

I think it might be luck... I imported from Motorpoint (great, but can't do specific orders - you choose and buy from whatever they get in) but Nik tried them and they sucked!
I also tried Trade Sales and their pre-sales service sucked - as in they never, ever called me back and when they finally got stock, it was £2.5k more than motorpoint.
I got a full UK spec inc auto lights/wipers etc and have had a couple of niggles sorted out under warranty with my local dealer with absolutley no problems, no charge.
Good luck! Pauline

I too bought mine from jamjar and have had no problems, my manual is in english but seems to be for the left had drive version, spent ages on the hard sholder looking for the bonnet release, the manual said it was under the steering wheel, found it on the passenger side.
A week before i took delivery of mine jamjar were offering a huge discount. That was last September, but may be worth a look again. It's a great care, worth looking.

Hi Craig,
I have ordered my cc from Micronetshowroom.com. I have asked for a black one with red and black leather so i know for a fact that you will be able to get the interior you want. As the previous post says, its quite unnerving as the dealers dont get in touch as much as they should and sometimes it does feel like you may never see the car. Giving £14000 to someone you have never met for something you have never seen is difficult and the lack of contact doesnt help. Its sales after all and once they have your deposit then in their eyes its a done deal and the customer service wanes slightly. One thing i will say is be aware of any charges that they quote. Micronet take £500 out of the deposit, which is obviously part of the total price but they keep it if you cancel your order. Even if their customer service is crap there isnt much you can do to stop yourself losing the £500. I know jam jar reimburse completely but then their proces are higher. You pay your money and take your choice.
Best of luck,
Benno

I couldnt possibly comment in case the person concerned had said that the cars are generally badly treated by the staff and are used like their personal taxis until delivered.
Ooops I didnt just say that did I, no I didnt
They may have also said that if you do buy one from there check everything very carefully several times over.

I am awaiting delivery on my cc (well actually the wife's ) , it's due in two weeks . A 2lt with leather in Cayman green .
We are using SCI Direct , and the quoted price is £12700 plus the brokers fee and OTR costs , and to date have had little problem . They have replied back to questions promptly , but have not really been forthcoming with information - but they do have a good Q+A section , which details your legal rights and who to contact for help(warranties , servicing etc )
The car is four weeks early , and we were able to specify all the options from the current UK specification list .

Buggsymoran - I had my car on order from Motorpoint but cancelled after I received very very poor customer service - no phone calls from them, 5 weeks after they told me the car would arrive it still hadn't. I finally cancelled and went elsewhere. I know Pauline bought hers from Motorpoint and was pleased with them - I think it may depend on who you deal with.
But like Rob says check the car over thoroughly - I know someone whose car was badly scratched & dented when they went to collect it.
Wherever you get your car from I hope you enjoy it - I certainly am!!!

I too bought an import from a car supermarket who happened to buy 4 CCs on spec.
I have no problem with the car except that I can't get a concrete answer regarding Warranty.
As an import you just get 1 year's warranty but the dealer told me (yet to be substantiated) that all cars imported & registered after Jan 02 carry an automatic 2 years Manufacturer's warranty.
Peugeot UK say they have heard something about this but are not bending over backwards to be helpful.
We will see. Anyone have any input to this ?
