Hiya
Advice please
I am thinking of part exing the CC for a new Audi TT - OTR price £20,725.
My 2.0 SE is registered April 2001 and has 17k on the clock. Full service history and is immaculate throughout.
Audi dealer has offered me £8.5k for it. He has phoned this morning chasing for my decision on whether to go ahead or not with the sale but I dont think 8.5 is enough. Am I right or wrong? Should I hold out for 9k?
What does everyone think? Am I being unrealistic?
Cheers

Play them at their own game - go and discuss, and act as if you're very interested when he drops the price. Don't agree on it there and then (even if he says something like "I can't offer this price again...") and walk away, say you'll call him tomorrow. Then call and say the same thing - still not happy.
Just keep pushing & pushing and they'll keep dropping prices to a point which is worth going for.

TTs are probably more common than Ford Mondeos. Couldn't you go for, say, an RX8, or a Z4 or something? It's worth noting that I paid less than £20,725 for my Cerbera

Ahh...me too! But I'm not suited to some of the 'bar room banter' shall we say!
Partner contributes more than enough for both of us!
I'm probably going down the Elise route for a weekend toy (just to keep us on topic)

It's also tempting -- I could ditch the Trevor for an Elise and realize at least £5k. But it means I could never take the kids anywhere in it, which means I would probably never drive it. And, TBH, I like to be able to go very fast in a straight line, which is not what Elises are good at.
There's nothing quite like coming up behind someone who's doing three-figure speeds, flashing them to pull over, then taking off into the distance
Had a run-in with a Bentley Arnage the other day -- they're very fast considering how heavy they are (2.5-3 tons, I think). I didn't start pulling away until 150+

Very nice!
Had access and driven lots of TVRs through a friend. If I owned one, I would be constantly breaking speed limits on the open road and I don't want to blot my copy book. Though neighbour has a Chim and every weekend I'm looking lovingly at it...
Partner has the Boxster, which is about to be replaced by a Noble or possibly an Ultima now. Decisions, decisions.
I've just got the one child, so a 2 seater is fine and I'd still keep the cc..it's great for what I use it for, with decent mpg.
But I just keep going back to the Elise again...

Z4's start at £24,450.
a TT is the last car i would get - as others say they are very common.

Unless it was the 3.2 DSG, which are supposed to be pretty good. If an Audi's on the cards, an A4 cabrio would be better IMHO, but again I think they start at around £24ka TT is the last car i would get - as others say they are very common.
