Well, the inevitable finally happened the other night.
I had driven down my driveway (it's a long driveway covered over by a tall canopy of trees), roof off (as usual) when just as I was nosing the car into the garage, the lights highlighted the fact that a large huntsman was crawling up the windscreen and making a beeline for ME ! It had obviously dropped out of one of those bloody trees.
I know these things are not poisonous and can't kill you - but when they're almost as big as your hand they can take 10 years off your life by scaring the @#$% out of you. And I have had enough of these scares to have a life expectancy of approx minus 60.
Needless to say, nowadays the roof goes up before I turn into my driveway.
Has anybody else received any visitations from above ?
Inevitable, I guess

Ha, an experience I know all to well!
You won't be coming to visit me in Queensland then. I live on a couple of acres of bushland and have been attacked in my CC by spiders, cane toads and at night bats! You get used to it, but as ugly as huntsmans are, you're lucky you don't see what I see everyday.
And people thought the Sunshine State was the best place for a convertible!

Don't laugh...but something fell into the cc from a tree whilst I was sitting at the traffic lights with the roof down. Scared the s**t out of me - when I looked it was only a leaf.
Moral of the story...roof will be up during the autumn!
So glad we don't get what you get in Oz.

Just before I got rid of my 306 Cabriolet I had the joy of a huntsman appearing on the instrument cluster as I was drving. Neddless to say I pulled over in record time and jumped straight out of the car into traffic. It was then a case of trying to find the sucker and get it out of the car, which I eventually did. I had a similar situation with my CC - no idea how it got in the car. Scary thought is that where there's a big spider there's babies. I rember once spraying a hunstman only to see literally dozens and dozens of tiny little spiders that had been riding on it's back scatter in all directions. I know they're not poisonous but they're big and scare the crap out of me.
Cheers
