Coming from a blonde who is now more towards brunette I would say try the brunette.
Although I do still have a few blonde streaks just to ensure there is an excuse for my blondeness! :oops:

i've seen you're pic and i'd say i would definitely prefer you as a brunette.... i don't prefer brunettes, infact i don't really have 'a type' but i think you look nice with dark hair!

Or in my case, natural dark blonde, with some light blonde and brunette streaks (to cover the grey ones... :| )

Roots, maintenance, expense...stay brunette. At least you won't have a barrel full of cliches ready to be thrown at you for the slightest mishap. I went dark for bit & people do tend to take you more seriously, but as I'm biased I would say blondes have more fun...ask Dom! ;)
