What was your favourite school dinner?

We used to have allsorts of things at my school

One of the favourites was worms followed by snails!

Or in other words, spaghetti bolognese and choux pastry buns!

Skip the canteen - chippy down the road, followed by smoking in the Orchard. (upmarket version of behind the bike sheds!!)

Packed lunch for me - I hated scholl dinners I occasionally had the Christmas dinners but mainly felt the need to go down the shop for a Chicken & Mushroom Pot noodle and a packet of "10 B & H" said in a semi broken voice

ah i remember that one

there was another pie that was nicknamed 'tarmac pie' coz it was hard and blackish like tarmac and no matter how much custard ya put on it it didn't make it softer

how about chocolate toothpaste?

pastry pie thing with guey chocolate filling and a splodge of cream on top. That was pretty yum! (And I've started eating it again in the restaurant at work!!!

We had that at my school too, was never sure if I liked it or not

One of my favourite puds was Chocolate sponge with green mint flavoured custard, yum!

I remember something similar to Cornflake Pie. Sounds very much like chocolate blancmange with cornflakes on the top that we used to have.

Then there was the rainbow sponge (layered chocolate, vanilla and strawberry sponge) topped off with chocolate custard.

Those were the days.

I remember one school lunch being so disgusting that me and my friends refused to eat it. We were made to stand outside the headmistresses office all afternoon and we couldn't leave until we had eaten it. That plate of food is probably still there now!
