Well its Saturday - deadline day!!!

I now have a registration certificate and a letter from Mazda thanking me for choosing a Mazda and providing details of the European Assistance provided. Both came in the post this morning.
What I dont have is a car.
In one hour Ill be at the dealer demanding the car or my money back.

So I may be about to drive the CC for the last time :( :( .

I dont care if it is raining - roof off.

I have a nice new RX-8 parked outside the house!!

When I arrived at the dealer the new manager said ‘we need to talk’

He wasn’t at all happy with his staff over the way I have been treated and even now the finance hasn’t been cleared, however that’s their problem not mine so I was able to take the car even though in effect it hasn’t been paid for. Plus in an effort to make up for all the problems and sweeten the deal I got £300 of the price of the car plus supaguard, mats and £350 worth of accessories also £250 cash.

As there are no discounts at all on RX-8s at the moment and some dealers are trying to sell pre-registered cars for immediate delivery at over list price, I feel quite happy. Its not as though I was desperate to get rid of the CC anyway

So glad its worked out for you Adrian.
It seems you got a really good deal in the end also.
Some nice extras there.

Enjoy your new motor mate.

Louis.

P.s. still pop around here to say hello once in a while though ;) :)

Glad it all worked out eventually.....

Its a shame that the manager took so long to sort things out.

Have fun with the RX8.....

Glad things worked out for you m8.

If I was prepared to give up topless driving (which I'm not) the RX8 would be my choice. I have seen several around here and its a spectacular machine. I love the Red, what colour is yours?

if Mazda's customer service is THIS bad before getting the car.... imagine how it's gonna be when they have your money...... reconsider the car you want..... do you really need 4 seats? I had a brilliant experience with Nissan and my new 350Z, so can recommend them!

I hope I only have to go back once a year, even then it will be to a different dealer.
I spent quite some time thinking of alternatives, four seats is a must so the Datsun is not a option however good it is. 307cc was the only other car on the list and that dosnt have all that much room in the back, OK its more than the 206cc but then my son will grow out of that soon and I'll be back where I started.

However Ive got it now and I have one big concern - how long is my licence going to last. Even taking it gently for the first few hundred miles its quick, whan I can start using all of those 9000 revs it'll be really fun.

ehehe can I suggest you an Origin B2? It's been my first addition to the car..... it really helps with all those cameras.....

fair enough on the 4 seats.... the 8 is a nice car! (shame about the fuel and oil consumption though! even more than my 3.5 V6!!! and that is A LOT, believe you me! )

I’ll have to get used to checking the oil but I expect the fuel consumption to be about the same as the CC. My CC was particularly bad, sometimes only giving 23mpg, so it won’t be too much of a shock. If I need to save fuel I’ll just have to use my 30 year old 3.5L V8 for a while, that’s more economical than the Pug was.

There seems to be quite a few ‘licence saver’ systems on the market, so I’ve got to decide which is the best to go for, I’ll definitely check out the Origin B2.
