Had these fitted last week at local Peugeot garage (Wilton Cars London N21). When I came to pay they tried to charge me about £90 more than the price listed and said that this was for labour/fitting. The small brochure/leaflet simply showed the prices so you'd know no different, but I had the full size accessories brochure which clearly states at the top of the price column "fitted price". When I queried it, he mucked about on the computer and came up with the right price. He didn't apologise, say it was a mistake, not a single word was spoken in fact. Had I not had the brochure with me and knew that it was the fitted price, I would have paid the extra. This also happened to me when I had the bonnet top grilles fitted. I'm sure they are stitching up loads of people and must make hundreds of pounds. Has this happened to anyone else? If you've had stuff fitted to your car, check that you've not been charged labour. What a rip off. Am tempted to write to head office - not that it'll do any good, but it annoys me that they must be doing this to everybody.

Whilst on the subject, from the brochure pictures, the sports grille has a little "tag" on it (on the right hand side when looking at/facing the car) which says something like "sports" on it, but mine does not have this. Anyone know why? Mine's the 1.6 Allure 53 reg. It's Moonstone and I have to say that the sports grille looks so much better on a lighter coloured car than having the black grille.

The badge on the right side says SP

Look at the last photo in the link to see the badge you should have fitted to your new grille. I think i would take a trip back to the dealers and enquire why you do not have it fitted.

I'll take a piccie for you Ali. It looks great I have to say. Our cars must be very similar now! I too have the windstop and the exact same mats as we discussed - thanks for that by the way. I haven't fitted them yet as I want to clean the car Saturday so it's all sparkling inside and out!

Will speak to the garage re the "tag" - it's definitely not on there!

They tried it with me too for my mesh vents. The first guy told me it was fitted proce, when I finally went for them I asked again that this was the fitted price and he said no there was labour on top. I told him that he could stick his labour charge and that I'd fit them myself!!

I actually managed it too!!!

I spoke to the garage and they said that you only get the "SP" badge/tag if the grille is fitted when you actually buy the car. I thought this was nonsense as surely it's the same grille whenever it's put on. Rang a couple of different Peugeot places and one place said that they don't do the SP badges any more and the other said that it's true that it's not fitted unless from new. So then I was baffled.

Shortly afterwards the garage rang to say that they now had the SP badge and did I want to bring it in to be fitted!?! Took it in and it's now on there. AND they tried to charge me for it, but I said it should have been on there in the first place! To be honest, I wasn't hugely fussed if it was on there or not, but they are so dodgy I started to wonder if it was the right grille at all and, if the badge should have been there, I wanted it!

Saw a blue 206CC in Woburn on Sunday with sports grille, but no SP badge.

Ali - let me know what happens with your grille fitting this week - it'll be interesting to hear if they tell a different tale!

Cheers!

If the SP badge appears in the accessories brochure then it should be on the grille when it has been fitted.

I know Lockwood do a similar grille for the car but that has no badge on it but there grille is only around £90.

I hope they've not given me a dodgy grille??? It is EXACTLY the same as the previous one, just not black. Is that right? I'm getting worried now. I ordered it via the brochure and the correct order number appeared on my invoice. May be I'm getting paranoid now!

I took my car in this morning - got a nice, spotless inside and out black 206 - 04 plate - 3K on the clock, courtesy car.

Checked and double checked with the After Sales Manager (as he was interested in the niggles and the solutions/comments from the forum that I'd provided them with - all typed up, etc!!) about the accessories and that they are fitted price. 'Oh Yes' he said and promptly wrote 'inclusive of fitting' on the work sheet!! Hmm..let's see come tomorrow eve, when I should pick it up!

I will check for the SP on the grille - and bring it up if its not on there.

Happy so far.... :D (apart from it being a gorgeous day and having to placate my son, who is upset that the roof won't go down!)

Update for you :

The good news - all the niggles have been sorted and exactly as everyone else has had done for the same things :)

The bad news - I was meant to get the cc back tonight, but someone forgot to tell the Body Shop about the painted mods and the little dent to come out - so it'll be in for another couple of days. :(

Just knew it would be the weather for topless cc'ing whilst it was in the garage

Will post up on the SP grille badge when my cc comes home.....

Which garage is it? It'd be worth a little drive for me to use them as mine are con merchants!

Enjoy the car when it comes back!

Correct. It's nonsense. The SP badge should come with the grille unless there is wording on the brochure to state it's only an example and actual parts may vary, etc. I got a SP badge on mine - don't settle for less! :D

I use Marshalls in Kempston (nr Bedford)...but the bad news, is my car is still with them..the leak they fixed and tested, leaked whilst the car was waiting for the painted modded bits..latest news is due back Wednesday.

Still don't know if the grille will have SP on it or not until I see it...but secretly optimistic! :D

Give 'em a ring and ask if the grille comes with SP as after market fit - see what they say. Can't hurt. (Tel 01234 856161).

Jem - just got my car back - yippee! :D :D :D :D

And yes..its got the SP on the grille. I did talk to them about the badge and yours not having it...take it back they said. Pug supplied SP grilles have the badge, factory or after market fit, as in both the brochure and Sports Packs leaflets.
