If you plan on travelling outside Zone 4 at any time then you will have to Keep the car!

And on days like today...with the tube strike that affected me...I wish I'd driven to the damn office! :x

Plus you've only had the car 5 mins - can't believe you'd want to be parted from it so soon :|

Think congestion charge. Think parking. Think smog. Sell the car.

If you ever need one for the odd day here and there just hire one .. it's cheap and easy enough.

I have to say... when I moved to London the CC went

Congestion charge is one thing, the traffic is another but I really just didn't use it.
Being in Central London you are so close to everything.

Different matter when your partner hasn't got a car either or you don't have another car to use. I have the boyfriends car as a back up so guess I am sorted.

Plus CC went to a good home - hey Roxie ;)

i don't want to be parted from it... that's the point.

i would not use it to commute.... i would use the tube. but if i live within the congestion charging zone, do i still have to pay it..... and doesn't it cease to apply after a certain time and on weekends???

i would still use my address in solihull for insurance purposes as it would cost me more otherwise

Congestion Operating Hours: 7am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays.
If your car is going to be insured in Solihull then you will have to pay £5 each time you drive in the times above.
If your car was registered in London you get a 90% reduction on the charge but there are allsorts of terms.
See www.cclondon.com for more info.

But if you plan to use it weekends then its fine... no charge!

I think.. keep the CC.
I only got rid of mine as I have the use of the boyfs car (although I am not insured to drive it as I can't get insured on it being so young  ) but means he can ferry me about.

Or alternatively get a scooter for the mid week commute! ;)

but then ask yourself this .. do you really want to live in the ass end of the country where the majority of people are incredibly rude, a round of drinks needs a remortgate to the house, and when you sneeze yuo cover people in black snot ...

Dont sell the car, get a different job !

/climbs back on tractor and head for the hills (slowly)

You either love it or you hate it, my bro lives down there and I used to spend school and then uni hols down there all the time. Now I've not been down there for about 3 years, and then it was only cos we were laving the car outside my brother before we went to Paris!

I prefer a quieter life but I can understand people who want to be in the middle of it all.

Keep the CC (If you have somewhere to park it of course) see how things pan out then you'll know if it is worth it or not.

Pros and cons to anywhere...

Social side is brill but can be expensive. Happy Hours straight after work are very popular with my lot :P

The tube is novel for a while, but generally yuk! I go twice a week and am starting to loathe it now.

When I did Swindon to Trowbridge everyday...it was busy M4 and then country roads of tractors and straw in me face! (Must have been Paul ;) )

I was a Swindon bod for a few years and still didn't master the magic roundabout! Didn't have the cc then...only got that this May.

Oh yes...Dallas is cool..esp the revolving tower restaurant 8)
