Having some new bigger alloys put on - now the hard bit - need some advice on tyres please!

Always love Dunlop SPs because of the softer compound, though they don't last that long.

Eagle F1s and Toyos seem to be popular.

Been offered Fox alloys with Hankook tyres - £570 the package. Though a good deal, what do people think/know of these tyres? Never heard of them myself!

Thanks!

It's easy, take the Eagle F1's and forget Hankooks ;)

Hankook's are good all round tyres. I've done a search on the net and people say they are good all round tyres for the price. I can get them locally for £60 205/40 17's. They are hardwearing and provide good grip.

Sure they're aren't as good as Eagle's F1's but they are around £30 cheaper for me.

only problem with hardwearing tyres is that they havn't worn out by winter, when ya really want something a bit softer. maybe just get 2 sets of ally's - one for summer one for winter :D

I tend to take off my Alloys for winter time and use my original wheels with the continentals premium contact tyres that came with the car. This way I can protect my alloys from the salt and grime of the winter roads.

Thanks everyone! This forum is just soooo brill! :D

Hankooks on new alloys it is and I can't wait!

Continentals done 7K on current alloys - so may take up the advice of putting them back on for winter, though when we get ice/snow round here...I work from home!!
