Trip Indicator keeps changing it's self!

Hi,

I was driving along yesterday and my trip display changed it's self from 278miles to 935.1 miles. The central dash computer trip was still reading correctly so i thought maybe it had just had a surge or something and it would sort it's self out after I had switched it off / cooled down etc.

Anyway, got home and reset the trip to zero. left it over night and now this morning it is on 935.1 miles again!!!

Whatever could be causing this???

Same thing happened to mine - the trip counter keeps going back to the last 3 digits of the main mileage of the car. Very frustrating!

It's a monkey trip I'm afraid - the dealer replaced the dials and the problem disappeared.
