Hi All,
I am the proud owner of a 04 Allure 2.0 in Diablo Red.
(I always wanted a Mercedes, but this is as close as my budget would allow.)
However, I have had a few problems since I took delivery in March.
On delivery I saw that the antenna was wonky & the paintwork had very very minor defects i.e. tiny bubbles in a couple of places.
The antenna was straightened and I ignored the paint defect as my previous car a 206 HDI had the same problem & the dealer at the time was honest and said it’s due to Peugeot’s manky paint shop.
Anyway since then I have had a couple of other problems:
1. Lumpy engine at idle (hot or cold) feels like sitting in an old MG (no disrespect to MG owners).
2. A knocking noise from around the drivers footwell area.
3. The drivers door would not close correctly because the glass would not fit in its aperture.
4. And on very odd occasions the car would pull to the right when braking.
My husband has driven the car on a half dozen occasions and the car only pulled to right on one occasion when pulling up at traffic lights. However he did comment that on high speed deceleration, the car would yaw left to right moderately. He suggested that I should take the car back and have the faults looked at.
The following day the recall (registered delivery??) X4D arrived & I immediately booked the car in for Thursday 17th.
The first thing that annoyed me was that no courtesy car was available, so I had to get a lift back from the dealer which is a ¾ hr journey in the morning.
Thursday evening the dealer called & said that the car was ready, but had been unable to rectify all the faults including the re-call. I told them that at such short notice I was unable to collect the car & would discuss the problem with them on Saturday morning.
Saturday morning I arrive at the dealer & spoke to the service manager, who did not have a clue of what had been done, apart from the notes made by the mechanic.
“Unable to perform recall because engine was to Hotâ€

Welcome
I got my new Allure at the end of May and I too noticed the lumpy idling. Now after just over 3000 miles I notice it about once a week and it seems to be getting less and less. Others have commented that they have also noticed this.
I did take it back to the garage after two weeks but they couldn't find anything wrong with it.
Sorry I can't help on the other things.

Thanks Bif.
Got my car back this morning. Drivers window seems to be working fine, lower suspension arm has been replaced, recall X4D has been done & the lumpy engine at idle has been supposedly cured, although I still find that, for a modern day engine it should be far more smoother. The mechanic said “These engines are always unstable when installed in these carsâ€

Hi
I'm about a mile from the dealer in Kempston!!
My car goes in 5th July for niggles...thought the techi was very good when I saw him yesterday. He's the only one who works on cc's so have to put my faith in him!
My niggles are:
1) digital oil reading at start up changes everytime - from fault to overful to empty, etc, etc
2) got a roof leak into rear offside
3) squealing brakes - generally back and front nearside
4) irritating clutch pedal squeak
5) trip computer jumping to last 3 digits of mileage!
Its also having a little dent sorted that appeared whilst I was away on hols and the car was only on my drive for 24 hrs (it spent the rest of the time at my Dad's house, in his garage!)
And its also having a load of mods done - can't wait!!
My reg is M11 AFG so I'll give you a wave if I see you around!

Hi Ali,
Is the Techi’s name Roger? I was told that if I still have problems with a lumpy engine, (which I still have) I should book the car in for him to look at.
I’m sorry to hear that you have all those niggley problems. I had the squeaking clutch peddle but that has been fixed. I’m going down to South London today in all the rain that has been forecast……… I hope my roof doesn’t leak.
What goodies are you having on your cc?
My Reg is KU04 BHX I’ll wave too if I see you.

hi guys, i have an 02 plate cc which ive had 6 mths. my engine is also a bit lumpy especially when cold. its been back a few times to the dealer & now runs much better but is nowhere as smooth as the 16v vauxhall lump that i had before the cc. my mate owns a peugeot independant specialist garage & apparrently all pug petrol lumps are crap especially the tuv engines in the cc's. weird really coz their diesel engines are world class. i guess you just got to learn to live with an engine that aint as smooth, or economical on fuel ( but dont start me off on that one !)

I can't remember the guy's name - he's quite young (or am I just getting old!!) and it was only him that Graham 'the giveaway salesman' would allow to put my personal plates on as I stood and watched.
No worries on the niggles - nothing that's stopping me having fun in it still (apart from the leak in this weather!) I got the lumpy idling when I first got the car, but it seems to have settled down or I've just got used to it!
Oh, the mods - I'm having the headlight conversion, arches, upper, lower and vent grilles, skirts. Bought some bigger alloys and tyres today and got some fab chrome sills with neons in that are being wired in/fitted by a local company soon. Makes a change from clothes shopping!
What did they do to fix your squeaky clutch pedal?
And did you have a leak free day in London?!
Hope I see you around!!
