Anyone ever heard of:
Revs going up to beyond 4 and sticking whilst driving resulting in v loud continuous noise and burning smell!. Had just taken foot of accelerator and tried to change into 5th gear. Also happened earlier in day in 2/3 gear. Had to cut the engine to stop this. Could have been dangerous since in the rush hour. Lucky driver behind not too close! Tried to start engine a couple of mins later and had to switch off as the noise present immediately when tried the ignition.
After sitting for about 45 mins, and AA man unplugging and replugging the battery all seemed to be OK and drove down the road to the dealers. They say no diagnostic faults showing. They are replacing throttle housing? Seems they are guessing, so wondering if anyone else seen this. Car only 1 year old.
