You've no idea how happy I am that I bought a 206cc !!!!!!!

Anyway I bought my 2.0 Allure 5.3.04 (brand new) it's been in 3 times already, twice for for leaky roof syndrome and needs to go in again cos it's still doing it and once for the dent they did on the day I collected her!!!!!!

However this morning I received a safety recall letter which goes something like this.......".....there may be a computer software problem which can on rare occasions casue the engine diagnostic warning light to illuminate resulting in a reduction in braking assistance.."

I've rung the lovely garage and been told that it's unlikely to happen and shouldn't mean that I'd have an accident....I don't want to know that it's "unlikely to happen or shouldn't.... - I want to know that I'm definitely not gonna have an accident !!!

The woman said that this error thingy means the car can go into limbo mode or linpo - didn't quite catch it which means that I wouldn't be able to go over 50 mph - and if I was the car would slow to a safe speed gr8 to know if I'm bombing around on the motorway !!

Anyway I've kicked up a right stink with the garage cos it's another bloomin trip there and they are going to do it this afternoon, and while I'm there I'm going to see how much they'll give me for it cos it just seems too much hassle. They have to be the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with...My mum has had a right hoohaa with her insurance with them - but that's another story.

Anyone else had a letter ??

Am soooooooo cross and sad !!! Before anyone says I know I'm over-reacting but I'm tried, emotional, hungry and just peeved a small amout...sorry guys ----deep breath and relax !!!!!

I will see if I get the same letter - I got a 2.0 Allure on 3.3.04 so was probably produced around the same time as yours.

If all they have to do is flash / update the software on the computer, they can do this almost while you wait I imagine - as long as there is a monkey free to do it.

Poor you, Smiler! Sometimes it seems as if the whole world is conspiring against you. I think you'll regret selling your 206 - and you'll get nowhere near what you paid for it. Try to negotiate with the garage for a couple of freebies to compensate you for all of your trouble. They can only say no! When your car is sorted out all of this will be like a bad dream and you'll be glad you kept it when you're driving around with the roof down and the wind in your hair :)
Life's too short to drive around with your roof up.

I don't think I'd mind as much if when I phoned I had some confidence in what they were saying to me !!!!!

I'm sure I'll calm down - just annoyed that's all and I'm not sure I have any confidence in them there. They've managed to get my roof wrong twice already, can just imagine driving away and all my doors falling off in a clown style comedy sequence !!!!!

They've said as long as I can get it to them before 2.30 today they'll have it done by 5.30.

Fingers crossed they don't blow it up !!!!

Yes, I have come home and found the X4D recall letter waiting for me. Pug even sent it recorded delivery, which they never did with any of the recall notices on my previous two 206's.

Makes me wonder if the possible fault is a bit more "possible" than they are letting on?

I've got the recall notice recorded delivery too. Assume everyone will be getting it. Mine's a 1st of March one too.
Had my roof fixed in the first couple of weeks they resealed it and touch wood it's been perfect; with all the rain we've had it's certainly been tried out and tested.
Also had a few scratches that appeared overnight which made me extremely upset, I took it to the garage to see what I could do as I didn't fancy t-cutting it and they made a mixture up while I was there, rubbed it down and it was like new. They didn't even want any payment for it. Had a couple of cars from this garage and would thoroughly recommend them. Willoughby Peugeot in Beeston Nottingham. It's a family run garage with first class service all round. At least there's one decent dealership out there!
