Hi everyone, long time since ive been on. Im glad to see the familiar names still around.
The problem is that ever since Ive installed my new sony head unit ive been experiencing problems with my headlights coming on whenever I indicate! this is not only fustrating but extremely dangerious. Can you imagine a senario - Im turning and idicating the oncomig car however sees my headlighs come on, which is usualy a sign to pass and hey thats the ingredients for a aciedent.

tThe question I have is has this happened to anyone replacing their headunit, and has it been fixed by Peugeot for free.
It is my understandig from here it could be a BS200 or something that needs resetting. is this true and can it b done for free.

Please help

This hasn't happened to me on my 206CC or 206 hatch with my Kenwood headunit. Maybe Sony are a little less careful what they send down the wires!

Peugeot can disable the radio connection on the BSI but they'll probably charge you labour fees (30 mins or so).

I've replaced the standard pug headunit with a Kenwood mask and I haven't experianced any of the problems you have. Only problem I have is that it takes nearly 2mins after the ignition is off before the unit spins round. Also if you activate the central locking the unit opens.

I connected it my self using the guide I fould here, just a case of swapping the permant live with the switched I believe then plugging it in.

Reag, I dont get what you mean about the VAn comfort system but I have a suspicion it is old the comms2000 theory.
:? Peugeot wanted £70 for an inspection charge, my cars still under warrently so this is crasy right?

Hi i had this problem and solved it by taking an acc feed off of the heater controls which is just below the stereo. The stereo now shuts up when the ignition is turned of email me if you want more info

com2000 is the control unit that your indicators, wipers, radio stalk etc etc is built into. this also conrtols your horn, airbag control(trigger 1 and 2),transponder ariel and on some esp.
the com2000(which is a mini ecu) are made by fisher price and are shite unreliable.
cause what happens is you indicate left, that sends a pulse signal through the comm along the v.a.n system(vehicle area network) to the b.s.i(built in systems interface)that translates that signal and puts it to alll the van systems which are van comfot, van comfort 1,van body..
so basically bsi sends pulse to say horn and asks are you left hand indi? horn replies saying no. bsi says o.k sorry for hassling you and then goes to the next in line which could be washers and asks are you left hand indi? washers say dont be silly ,bsi says sorry and goes to lefthand indi and asks are you left hand indi which it replies why yes i am and the bsi says thank god for that could you turn on and start flashing please and the indi goes yeah no worrys mate.
so to some up. if your comm sends the wrong signal(w2hich is more than likly )it will eventually turn on the wrong consumer unit.
ask them to check out your com and they will/ should cange it under warranty.
half hour to change.
the above is why when somtimes you havent used your nsf window you may find there is a small delay(maybe a second or to be fore it goes down, its just the bsi doing its rounds.
