Hi Guys & Gurls
Greetings from Denmark.
Today I just discovered the Pioneer "All-in-one" AVIC-X1
I've no idea of availability, pricing, functionality etc. but it sounds Just what I'm looking for. I can just see this unit in my 206CC 2.0SE june.2001.
Yummy :P
Before I go ahead and pester the garage, Pioneer Denmark etc, do any of you have any expiriences, rumours, advise etc. about this unit ?
Basically I want it all, in one DIN unit, and I want to use my non-multiplex stalk for controlling some of the features. Besides, as far as I can see, almost everything is controllable using the touch screen.
Too good to be true ??
I'm sooooo excited, but please help me not loooooosing my grip :D
ALL info is MOST welcome.
Hope CC'ers all around the world will have the opportunity to ride topless during easter. (still too chilly in Denmark, but I'm hoping  )
Thanx,
Per

I've got to chance to take a look at Pioneer's AVIC-X1 last week.
It was our local Hifi dealer's hifi show. That unit was only one here in Finland. It was awesome  I think it's first potential navigation device! But it cost's here in Finland about 3000euros.

Hi Jussi
Ouch ! THATs expensive.
In Denmark it should be something like 2700 euros.
Still expensive, but ...
Well, Also looking around for new speakers, without having to destroy my darling Sisi. Will keep you informed.

Sorry  the right prize was about 3000 euros and now i managed to get an offer for that player, and it's now 2700euros (so same as normal prize in Denmark).

Just a short update :D
Have been checking all sorts of posibilities, and has asked the dealer to go ahead.
Setup will be something like
Pioneer Avic-X1
Pioneer DAB Tuner (GEX-P700DAB)
Blaupunkt GTI-flex DAB2 Fm/DAB antenna (7 691 270 124)
Blaupunkt AW1 DAB diplexer (7 691 290 189)
Pioneer Stalk Adaptor PIO-823
Change of speakers etc.
Now I'm just waiting for delivery dates, and possible dates for installation.
Yeehhah
And DON't ask what it's going to cost
Cheers,
Per

Hi All

Sorry for the delay.
Had to travel and work like a maniac to pay for this setup :D

Got my darling back from the dealer friday with everything installed. Not quite as I had ordered and imagined it, but no big problem.
The project's not quite finished yet, as Pioneer delivered the wrong stalk adapter. Sigh !

Otherwise:
Sound
Navigation:
Usability, once I get used to all the menues, shortcuts etc.

The stalk should be fixed on 17th. may - this is easy with a non multiplex car

Once I think everything is in order, I'll take some pictures, send them to Lyndon, and you can all have a look at a setup that "almost doubled my cars value". Nah, just kidding. But bloody expensive, I'll grant you.

Until then,
Per

So could there be installation problems with multiplex cars?

Hi Jussi
To be quite honest, I don't know.
Not having a multiplex car, I never asked about the display re. the adapters Pioneer make.
Sorry,
Per

i installed one last week and its a great system. and that explains it all :)
and also in a way it s very "cheap" since you have everything in one.

i didnt had time to test the dvd player but the feedback from the client was that it worked great too.

just like a regular radio when you use the adaptor lead 970686 you can install it in a full mux car without problems.

(the going price in holland is around 2400euro. but some shops already offer them for 1900euro)

Hi all
Sorry, again. Havent had time to take pictures yet etc.
However I got my stalk working with the X1 after Pioneer delivered the correct adapter. (non multiplex car)

I've confirmed at least one minor bug's in the Basic Software of the system.

I find the Beeps when pressing any button very annoying, so I have turning the beep volume all the way down. When turning of the engine, restarting, the beep is back at default level, but the system thinks the beep volume is turned off. This is discussed at http://www.avicx1forums.com./forum/ amongst others.

Cheers Per
