I note that some of the number plates pinned to the Forum are blanked and some are not. Some only become blank if you click onto the photo to enlarge, interesting.
I understand the security reasons for blanking numberplates so I won't elaborate here, but am I right in assuming the blanked ones are edited by members before they are forwarded onto the Forum, I forgot to blank mine in the cc owners section.
I don't know if it's worth admin considering blanking all plates before pinning them to the Forum, but I guess this would be an extremely laborious task for anyone to undertake, maybe a reminder to members that they may wish to do the same would be an idea?
OK, oh well, to save any further PM'ing I'll briefly explain.
Known criminals tend to duplicate plates for stolen vehicles to match known makes/models and colours already registered on the road.
That way if they get the police behind them running a PNC numberplate check, it doesn't automatically come up as a stolen vehicle.
Of coure there are many other reasons, including those that would rather stay anonymous so that people couldn't recognise their car and therefore establish their daily movements.

Got a tyre for my alloy, fits nicely in my boot even with roof down, thank you HB, and I've put it in upside down so I can still fit shopping in the hole in the middle
