I had an interesting problem in christmas. Car's rear breaks frozenso am i the only one with new style pads that squeel? I had them squeeling in the snow last week
I take it to the dealer and they "grind" brake pads. So brake pad's corners were round. Believe it or not but that helped but after that rear pads have been squeeking.

This morning i couldn't get to work because my rear brakes were frozen
Yesterday was +2celsius and this morning -12celsius. So there were snow in brakes. I tried to move the car back and forward and then the clutch start to smell (a little) so i leave the car at home (waiting for warmer weather).
Time to take another call to dealer and ask if they change rear pads again. Because that corners grinding didn't helped (but it helped brakes to squeek again). :x

I take car tomorrow to dealer to check the brakes. Dealer told me that they have somekind of liquid to put the pads (they sink the pads in this liquid). Don't know what liquid this is, but it will stop the squeek and frozen. Sounds very wierd
And yes i have those newer pads, which doesn't (or suppose not to) squeek, until that corner's grinding thing...

Hi there
my brakes are seaking again after 12K miles
they squeaked at 1K, then again at 7K and at 11K !! getting rather peeved...
I mentioned the part number but dealer says they already put that on !!
I'm not paying for them as car is still under a year old, 03 reg, June
Is there any fix or this as i've notice people have stopped posting??

I've just visited my dealer and had a long chat with a monkey about squeaky brakes, 'coz I've got them too!
He told me their fix is to rub them down, coat them in some black stuff, let it dry and then coat again. He's not had a 206cc come back squeaking or squealing.
He said he too has a cc and had the same problem, but now fixed. Says it won't come back in a few thousand miles either.
Anyone had this done and if so, what was the resultant outcome? Would like to be confident he's telling the truth

My car's brakes are treated in your way and now they squeek again. My car was checked couple of weeks ago and they didn't fix the brakes anymore, because i have those new pads and they were treated with that "black stuff". My car is booked again this week and i ask again what they will do about the brakes

I had the brake pads coated in the black Stuff last August time at about 7500 miles. I believe it is called "copper grease". The Squeaking came back this January. I've now changed to greenstuff pads and had a local garage grease them about a month ago and the squeaking is still there. I'm now looking to get the EBC turbo groove brake discs fitted this weekend which I hope will finally rectify the squeak brakes problem as other people on this forum have reported that fitting performance brake discs and pads will stop the squeaking.

You can get them from
www.ebcbrakesdirect.co.uk
Go to the website and look for the peugeot 206cc
If you have a 2002 model. The correct brake discs will be GD1047 which aren't listed as the ones with part numbers TGD311 only fit pre 2002 cars.

I'm tempted to go for the performance discs and pads - my squeaking/squealing is just driving me nuts!! And its intermittent too...
I've got a 2003 model - does that need a different part number from the 2002 one do you know?
