I think Jussi is right. Multiplex was introduced on the 2002 model which would have been first available around oct 2001.

Don't forget that there's at least 2 types of multiplex system in use on the cc. The one used from 2001-2002 is different to that used now (and some remote stalk adapters won't work on the older system).
