Rattler.

Hi,
I have just purchased a two year old CC 2.0 with 15,000 on the clock. I have noticed that the roof tends to rattle as does the passenger side window. I have owned convertibles before but none with a hard top. Is this normal ? In a way I hope it is!

I've read some of the postings on here, is there a definitive remedy or is it something we have to put up with.

Or have a bought a Friday afternoon version?

It can be remedied!
You need to take it to a dealer who will realign the doors and roof for you.
Ours no longer rattles.

Is this the shuffling noise between the glass and roof??

The windows seem to rattle even when the roof is up and the roof seems to creak obviously when it is up. I cannot tell whether it is the glass meeting the roof, it seems to be that the nearsde front window seems to be a bit loose?

Obviously it is worse when going over speed humps or a bumpy road.

If the car is in warranty then the dealership should do it free of charge.

Peugeot do a new kit for the roof which involves a silicone gel, just had mine done and it rattles alot less now, all under warranty if youve just bought it, so well worth it, otherwise have your sterio on full blast to drown it out!!

Do you mean that they applied it all for you and then gave you some gel?

I had squeaks and rattles in quite a few places. Booking into the dealer has sorted all of these out.

I'm not really too bothered about noises in a car but im glad i did it now as it's a much more comfortable drive now

If you put the alarm on with the button on the key, while leaving the car parked with the roof off, will the alarm go off the second a fly or something flys in? Am I best just locking it with the key?

Dunno about that, but i would never be out of sight of my car if i left the roof down. I always close it.... plus seagulls always take aim for my car and nobody elses :x

I hadn't thought about the seagulls!!! Its just if Im just nipping into the shop or something for 2 mins, it seems abit pointless putting the roof up for 2 mins to drop it again when I leave. I might just continue locking it with the key.

I suppose that I could always leave the roof down in the hope that I might entice a Seagull. Could use it's feathers to pad out the roof and windows to stop the rattles, utlising a little Gel of course!!

Thats ace!!!! If you align the feathers correctly and go crusing on the motorway, you might take off!!!! Seriously though, if its rattling that bad get it booked in for the roof kit gell stuff, its well worth it, although with summer coming if your like me the roof will be down more than its up!
