Does anyone happen to know high the roof goes when opening/closing?

I know I could mess about trying to stop the proceedure in mid-flow, but someone may just know.

I was wondering if I'd have enough clearance to be able to the the roof up in my garage.

I wouldn't worry about how high the roof goes, I'd be thinking in terms of how high the boot lid goes... the roof wouldn't go any higher than the boot lid does when raised.

Measure the length of the bootlid from the hinge forwards and then arc it up till the tape is vertical from the hinge.

That should give you an idea if you'll make it or not.

Michael

Good Idea about measuring the boot lid.

I'll look at it.

If it's any help, I've opened & closed the roof while I've had mine parked in the garage. Unless you have a low garage ceiling that doesn't allow you to stand up there shouldn't be a problem. Don't know the actual height measurement though.

Not that I can clearly remember cos it's not stopped raining here long enough for me to get the roof off in ages !!!!!!!!! but I think the roof does go higher than the boot lid before it drops into the boot - I could be completely wrong, but I'd get someone to drop your roof for you while you look on.

I'm surprised Greenday hasn't mentioned it, cos it was the first thing that occured to me.

If you had a Pugmatic, you'd be able to press the button, hop out, stand back and watch the roof do it's thing !

Michael

The Pugmatic is tempting, but I wouldn't want to give th Pug guys any reason to void my warrenty if the roof failed. The car is only a couple of moths old.

I think it doesn't go upper than your aerial, so if you can drive your car without the aerial touching the carage, then you should open the roof with no problems...
But the boot lid comes higher than your aerial, so it's the highest part, when you open the roof.

The Pumatic can be removed from the car without a trace of it ever having been there if you do get a problem and need to send the car back to Peugeot.

My car was new in 01/04 and I installed my Pugmatic about a month later. Three months on, I've also put in a Griffiths quick-shift, a windstop, satin-chromed hoops, installed my own amp(s), replaced the front speakers and added a sub.

Hmmm... sometimes I think maybe I should be more mindful of warranty issues? But, then I think, "Naw, I NEED all this stuff !" Hehe

Hopefully, that's all I'm gonna do to this car. It's getting a bit silly now that I think that I got rid of my last car 'cos it was beginning to cost me money... something's not making any sense here !

Michael
