Can anyone tell me if tyres are repairable if they have a smallish stone embedded in them. Just noticed I have a puncture in my new tyre.

If it is repairable, how do they do it and is it expensive.

Many thanks

Repairing a tyre is not expensive (£10 - £20) but they can only do it if the puncture is on the tread part of the tyre and not too close to the edge. They will put a rubber "thingy" in the hole from the inside of the tyre with a flat bit on the bottom which sticks to the inside of the tyre. (I don't think I'm explaining this very well!)

Anyway, take the advice from a trusted tyre dealer if you have one. Not all punctures can be repaired and it's often better to err on the side of caution and buy a new tyre if you like to get your foot down!

Best of luck!

I had a puncture in one of my tyres not so long ago.

The garage I took it to did what Bri said and "plugged" it - they actually did a fantastic job (according to one of my car mad friends) and it cost £16 - a pain in the bum but these are the kind of things that happen.

That's a relief, I thought I was going to have to pay out on a new tyre.

Phew!

Thanks

I had to buy a new one £98 Big City Tyres was the only place that had one in. Said they couldn't repair it cause it was too near the rim.

Peugeot Assistance (RAC) were fantastic, they came and removed the wheel took us to the garage and came back and fitted it. Couldn't fault them.
