I’ve just realised that it’s been a year since I started to organise the last karting meet. So do how about doing it all again this year?

Any takers?

For those new to the forum and others with memories like mine here is a recap of what we got up to last time round.

We went to the Rye House track near Broxbourne, Herts and the racing consisted of 15min practice and qualifying than a 40min race (1 or 2 drivers per kart). The cost was £75 (per kart, not per person); I don’t know if it has gone up this year. We had enough drivers (10 karts) to make it an exclusive event, just for us. Then on to a local pub by the canal for food and beer!

Usually bookings have to be a month or two in advance, and with my holidays getting in the way as well, I think we will be looking at a date no earlier than mid June.

If there is enough interest Ill check availability and try to fix a date.

Does anyone know the Pete situation?

Maybe he might be able to defend his crown, but it'd be nice to see him if he's up, about and around. Besides - i do still owe him a beer! :D

Dear all,
At last,im home, after my little accident on Oct 4th.

Just a quick note to say many thanks for all your cards, letters, phone calls, pressies and general fantastic support over the last 7 months. Its been one hell of a journey, one ill never forget.

Will be hopefully seeing you all face to face over the coming weeks,to show off my attempt at walking.

Thanks everyone,im off to relax in garden now,all that sitting about in hospital has worn me out.

we'll see if he can make the karting :D

Well hello Pete
Its good to have you back, we all missed you.

That’s fantastic news that you will be able to defend the title. Things must be looking much better for you now. :D :D

All we need is for more people to put their names down and I can start getting it all organised.

An update at last – I’ve been rather busy for the last week or so.

The good news is that all Sundays in July are available at Rye House, and most time slots are free. :D

The cost is still £75 per kart but they require a deposit from me of £500 to secure the booking, so once numbers and dates are sorted out I’ll be chasing you for your proportion of the deposit.
We have to agree on the date: (the 4th is definitely a no go for me). I suggest 11th to get discussion started.
Of course we still haven’t reached the minimum number required for the booking (10) we only need a couple more, so anyone else want to join in the fun?

Sorry Karting can’t go ahead as not enough people were up for it. My fault for not pushing it enough. I’ve had so much work on, made even worse by going away on holiday I really haven’t had time to try and get more people interested.
Id like to do it again though maybe in the autumn?

Boo Hiss Adrian  lol

I blame the current "cc'er apathy" and the fact that we've still not had consistently good weather
