Had the car used, and havent had chance to take it on a decent run out as yet, but when changing to third from second, it seems to kinda catch on somthing in the box, this doesnt make too much of a noise, but you can feel it. any suggestions? you think it just needs running and warming up propely or has anybody had the same problem?

Hi Steve-o
First of all, please forgive me if anything screws up. My first post here :D

I bought a used 206 CC 2.0 (SE ?) august 2003. Had next to no problems at all. After an engine recall approx. 2 months ago I noticed what sounds like your expirience. In my case it's not always there, this reluctancy to get into 3. gear. I notice it shifting up to 3., but sometimes also shifting down to 3. Very annoying, most of all cause it's not concistent.
Will get to the dealer in the near future, but I would like to know if you have any further comments on this ?
Regards.

when i go to change into third if i let the gear stick settle in the middle before a shift it will go into third fine, however, when changing gear fast it catches, sometimes quite hard, inside the gearbox and gives a 'clunking' sound, then goes into gear...im sure its not supposed to do this, but then again, its probably me driving like a t*at and changing too fast sometimes.
Is this what you are experienceing?

Hi

Hmm-sounds a lot like what I've found.
Will try to experiment a bit more
I would like to get it solved cause I'm planning on getting the QuickShift thingy. My elbows get in the way with these "huge" gear movements.
Cheers,
Per

Not really a problem but doesn't give loads of confidence long term!!

I used to have exactly the same problem, changing from 2nd to 3rd gear was a nightmare, but i found i had the seat too far back and wasn't pushing the clutch in enough!! Now i make sure its pushed right in and its fine, but i only have to do it with 3rd gear the others are ok if you dont push it right in! :?

Hi Classy :D
Though about that and did some experimenting.
Pedal is to the metal, and still.. this weird resistance.
Sometimes there, sometime not.
Ah well. Will have a word with the dealer within the next weeks anyways.
Will keep you posted,
