Just writing to say that I feel like 've finally settled into my CC.
Had my car for 8 weeks now and finally completed the installation of my DIY ICE job. Nothing complex or awe-inspiring by the standards of most members here, but it does me just fine and I'm happy.
I kept the original head unit to preserve functionality of the steering stalk and display.
I changed the front speakers for Pioneer 4way 220w speakers, and they went straight into the existing spaces in the doors.
I've also installed an MTX 400w Amp which doesn't need an ignition cable (apparently, it works it out based on info coming through the speaker input) however I put the ignition cable in anyway. Thanks to MattB for his tip on that one !
And I've got a 400w Pioneer 10" Sub sitting in my home-made sub box (MDF box upholstered with car carpet that matched my boot carpet exactly) in the boot alongside my CD stacker.
BLISS !
Happy now !

I've emailed pics to Lyndon cos I still don't know how to put a pic up. So, hopefully he'll put them up for me when he gets the time. (Thanks Lyndon!)
By the way, I've done some re-thinking, and I think it could be a good idea to cut the box down a little more at the front edge so that the sub is angled towards the cabin as it's considerably muffled when the roof is down. It probably won't be so aesthetically pleasing (when looking in the boot), but I think it might sound better. Any suggestions anyone?
Also, in case anyone is wondering, the CD changer in the picture was supplied and installed by the dealer when I bought the car. Both it and the head unit are by Clarion.
Cheers,
Michael
