Its been a fab 17 months with my CC, but sadly it has to go ... I will be so upset to see it go, but with a baby imminent, I had to put my practical head on and go for a more sensible car - sticking with Peugeot, going for a 5 door 206 1.6 SE (so its got loads of the gizmos and gadgets I got used to with my CC 2.0SE - just no lifty off roof!)

Got a really good deal on a trade in and cash back from the Peugeot dealer down in Barnstaple (we'd only gone down there for a weekend away by the coast, and ended up coming back with orders for 2 new cars!!) So if you are down in North Devon and see a gorgeous little black CC with a number plate ending in "VNN", give it a wave and tell it how much its missed! (god I'm welling up just thinking about it going!!)

But before I head off away from the CC forum, can someone please reassure me that the ordinary 206's dont have the same problem with the catalytic converter error messages coming up after a drop of water has hit the windscreen - my 206CC went back to the garage on 3 or 4 occasions with this, and it really narked after a while!!

Sorry, I don't get this "have to be a bit more practical" thing. We have two kids, aged 12 and 10 (so not small) and our "fleet" consists of a 206CC and a TVR Cerbera (amazingly, the rear space is even less than a CC....)

With one kid on the way, there should be plenty of room in a CC (the boot is huge, for a start). Remember that people used to transport entire families in a Mini (that's an Issigonis Mini, not a MINI).

Hi Carl - lucky you having the TVR - now I know I would have thought twice about trading that in!! The reason for trading the CC in was not actually simply to do with the size of the car (although my dodgy back may have whinged a bit much about putting a baby in and out of a car seat in the back of the car when the baby is 6 months or so) - but more a financial decision - I'm not getting maternity pay cos I will have been in my job for 4 days short of the 6 months needed to qualify, so the cash back which I'm getting from the CC is being set aside to make up a part of what I would normally bring home. Therefore I won't have to go cap in hand to the hubby every time I want to buy something for me or the baby (NB. hubby actually is a lovely bloke who would never leave me short of cash, but I'm an independent girlie who likes to have her own cash!!). We have already agreed that once we have some spare cash again, I can have another CC (as third car for the family!!) - maybe by that time the catayltic converter probs will be a thing of the past......

Don't worry Lyndon, I will keep popping back to see how all the CCs are doing - just sorry I never got to a meet to see what all the owners are like!
