as i need 4 i thought i would phone a few places for a price. left out kwik fit etc.. as they are extortinate so tried two local places....
one was taking £97 each or £94 each buying the 4. the other place was where i found them cheapest last year at £93 but this time they are only £87 incl. valve, balance and fitting - i'm as happy as i can be now

I was thinking of going for Toyo Proxes for several reasons:
1) Cheap
2) Really good tyres. Had four sets on the Impreza, and they're OEM fit on TVRs now.
3) Wear out less than F1s. The F1s on the Pug seem to be like Swiss Rolls to me
Was thinking of getting a pair of fronts. It's only really necessary to have the same tyres all round when you have 4WD, IMHO. In a FWD car, the back wheels are only there to stop the back of the car dragging along the ground

Yea the smaller garages are much better normally, and i had quotes from four small garages for F1's and all where cheaper then Pug and Kwik Fit etc, and also come with valve, balancing and fitting.
Every place i asked said the new F1's are amazing! i got the ones down from the brand new ones, dunno what they called off my head. But the Proxes are the next best thing apparently, still really good and are cheaper also.
the ones i got today are the latest GSD3 and they are meant to be even better than the old ones. saying that, the normal F1's were excellent so i won't complain

I have been trying to 2 new tyres locally and the cheapest I could find were for at least 100 each incl fitting and these for GSD2's.
I have just purchased 2 tyres from www.mytyres.net for £85.00 each incl vat and delivery and they are GSD3's. My local dealer will fit them for 7.00 each so i am happy with that.
