hi all.

My front right indicator is not flashing. When I use the right indicator, the dashboard display flashes at twice the regular speed wheras the left is fine.

Does this mean it has detected a faulty bulb or a fault in the electrics?

Just wanted to check before I went out to get a new bulb and it actually turned out to be something different.

Thanks guys.

That indicates ( ) it's a faulty bulb and needs replacing.

Agreed, bulb is likely to have blown.

The reason it flashes fast is because the timing of the flashes is determined by the resistance in the circuit. If a bulb goes then the resistance is different to usual so the flash tmiing is very different.

I think ;)

You can always rely on Matt for the extra-technical answer :)

Its unanimous, the bulb it is then. Now I just have to force myself to get a new one :(

Yep. The little orange bulb near the center of the bonnet. Was surprised at how easy it is to access actually.

i suspect it is an electrical issue and the fault lies with the man that has de-handled and de-locked the car doors. It worked before giving him the car and now it doesn't.

Well, its booked in with pug for a service and brakes so have added all the things that this guy has broken in the process of modding the car. I shall be sending him the bill for those bits so it doesn't matter about the cost really.

Although he'll no doubt squirm his way out of paying somehow.

I had a weird one the other day. I couldn't indicate left, but right was working. When I got to work I checked the handbook for the fuse for left hand indicators - I couldn't find it. So I tested the hazards - all the bulbs worked. So I tested the indicators again - it was now working...

Very suspect. I would suspect a fuse but its only the front bulb which is why everyone said the bulb.

Grrrrrr. At least yours works.

Alex, you'll know this... What is the penalty for getting busted without a working indicator?
