Hello,

I read here that it was possible to activate one touch on the passenger side window and also enable auto hazzards on heavy braking.

The mechanic just rang me at my local dealer as its just been in for a window problem and oil level meter problem. Now he says both these options cannot be reporgrammed. Is he telling me porkies ?

I don't know about that auto hazzards thing. But i asked last year for my dealer that passenger side auto window thing, and they said it can't be reprogrammed. You need new switches and so on to get it worked, so it could cost some money.

The auto hazards option is an odd one. I heard that the option was disabled as a new law was passed meaning that you can't use your hazards whilst on a motorway (or something like that).

However, my brand new 206 claims to have the auto hazards, although luckily I haven't had to test them yet.

I've had my hazzard lights come on twice now when breaking suddenly. Maybe i should drive more carefully.

I don't know whether or not it's really possible, however this link gives sample configurations for the BSI and amongst them are:

Switching on the hazard warning lights on sharp deceleration :
absent

I recall somewhere on here someone describing the exact point within the software where you specified left/right/both for auto up/down. I guess it just takes access to the right person who can be bothered within the dealership. I have downloaded something claiming to be "Diag2000" off the net but I don't know if it's the genuine article and haven't had the time to check it out yet.

I was told on multiple occasions by two pug service managers that there is no pulsed vehicle speed wire on the 206 (suitable for connecting to sat nav vehicle speed interface) I asked them whether it was that they didn't know of one or whether they knew for certain that there isn't one, they both said there isn't one which I of course now know it is not true as I have had my Satnav connected to it for over 6mths.

A bit off topic, but sat nav systems can determine the speed themselves - why does it need a speed wire?

From what i've read its so the Satvav can keep track of where you are even if you lose the GPS signal, it uses the speed to work out how far you've gone and a gyroscope to tell if your turning or not, so if your going through a tunnel etc. you can still be direct correctly
