Hi All,

I'm going to be driving my car to Southern Spain for the summer, and don't fancy undertaking the journey with just a can of dodgy tyre weld stuff, so am going to get the space saver spare.

Could someone please tell me if there is space for the spare in the boot when the roof is down? After all there isn't much point in taking the thing to the beach with me if the roof has to stay up!!!

Many thanks,

Josh

Yes you can easily keep the spacesaver in the boot with the roof down however, you'll have used up almost three quarters of the boot by doing so.

There is space for the normal 16 inch alloy with the roof down, so there will definitely be room for a space-saver.

Have fun in Spain

Alternatively, put the space saver in a bag and belt it into the back seat, not that I've tried but it should fit underneath the wind stop.

I manage to get the space saver (admittedly I only have 15" wheels) and 2 sports bags in the boot with the roof down.

Enjoy your trip ;)

Hey Justin,

we're going to spain as well, maybe we'll meet you somewhere...

Anyway, take a look at this page : http://users.pandora.be/maplo/206cc/fot ... enkant.htm
this Belgian cc-lover has had a bag made for his spacesaver in leatherlook-material. You can also perfectly see on the picture how much space the tire will take.

Bye,
JaRi

I'm now confused... I thought from reading the other posts on spacesavers that the spec is the same whether you have the S 15" or or SE 16" wheels, but Justin keeps referring to 'only having 15" wheels'. Who's right?

I'm afraid I haven't a clue how he stuck it down - superglue?

One spacesaver fits all. 15" and 16" tyres have a almost identical rolling diameter. It's the size of the alloy wheel that is mostly different.

I’ve been contemplating buying one as well. Anyone know the cheapest place to get a space saver + fitted tyre ?. Peugeot or independent dealer + cost ?.

Josh - hope you manage to get it for that price. When I tried I was told the tyre is now discontinued & the new one costs over £20 more and takes 2-3 weeks to order.
