Yeah the central locking locks the boot, but after using the central locking to unlock the car you need to use the key as well to get the boot open.

I can't remember the explanation (I expect someone on here will) but it's supposed to be like that, so don't worry. ;)
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

yea i was gonna say, mine is like that too, cant think what reasoning there is behind it, maybe to stop someon e running round to the back of your car at the lights, opening it and running off with whatever is inside....or maybe thats a bit far fetched!

Well, its better to accidentally lock it rather than accidentally unlock it when you are walking away... Sounds a good idea to me... we are getting too lazy me finks :D

It's to prevent someone being able top break into your car and nick stuff from your boot.

I can vaguely remember this topic being discussed before and I think it was so that people can't access your boot by unlocking the car form the red button or door locks when the roof is down.

I never checked this out because I figured the solenoid or actuator wasn't present for the unlock. From what you've said though, it is there? Reading the German page here suggests there's one actuator with current applied one way around to lock, and the other to unlock? I think this article also refers to the same kind of thing (don't understand any German at all).

The article suggests the solenoid between pins 16 and 5 will lock and unlock, and that it's orginal configuration is to hang between ground and pin 16. I can't quite see how this works though, surely for the actuator to "unlock" you need a ground on 16, unless this is how a normal 206 is connected and that is the case, the polarity of 16 and 5 reverses?

If you get anywhere, be great to hear about it! It may just be the addition of a wire ... The microswitch the luxury that ensures the car only locks/unlocks when the roof is closed.

Just rewired our boot so that it locks and unlocks with the remote.
Can`t believe how much bettter it is!
Also when the roof is down there does not seem to be any way of getting into the boot.
Can`t understand why Peugoet don`t wire them this way.

Does it need extra cabling to do this and this on a mux or non-mux car? I wanted to do this but couldn't follow the german instructions... Did you do the full mod with the sensor switch so if you lock it with the roof down, it won't unlock if someone leans in and lifts the door button?

You should be able to get into the boot when the roof is down, irrespective of whether the car is locked or not...I can with mine...its the same as when the roof is up, ie. having to use the key and unlock first.

Our car is fully multi-plex
Yes you need extra wiring
The boot will not open because of the dead locking [when roof is down]
All you are doing is disconnecting the earth from the boot acctuator and running 1 wire down the car to the BSI and connecting it to pulse open wire this will vary on differnt years of cars .
On our car 2003 wire number 621 pulse lock and 620 is pulse open connect to 620 pulse open.use 12 volt tester to make sure.
No more messing with the key to open the boot

i know it might be asking a lot but is there any way you could do a step-by-step set of instructions (with photos) for how to do it. if you have seen the instructions on how to install the pugmatic at pugmatic.co.uk you will know what i mean. i really want to do this but have no idea how to.

thanks
