I must be getting old -- but I think Janet Jackson's breast stunt was totally out of order.
It's such a cheap way of getting publicity. Most importantly however is the fact that however soft, it has introduced pornography into a sporting event with no controls on kids watching.
I mean something only adults would watch -- OK -- jeez we can handle it get your breasts out. in fact britney .. christina .. PLEASE .. get your breasts out!! But seriously think about it .. 6 year old kids were watching a male grown up apparently ripping a female's clothes off without her cooperation (we know it was a stunt .. but the young kids may think the guy just chose to suddenly rip her top off) .. I mean -- why isn't the world going nuts about this? I'd go for criminal charges - or something!
Shame on her. (Jeez I sound like an old man). Seriously though -- What the hell next? Half way through a benefit concert for disabled kids Britney strips naked and has sex with the drummer?
Sorry -- I'm like the -most- liberal person ever but this event was just awful -- it really needs punishment. Not because I was offended -- but just the kids who have to endure flashers whilst trying to enjoy the game. If a 45 year old guy had run onto the stage and flashed his **** around -- he'd have been arrested and charged within 10 seconds! (And got a good kicking from the police!)
What do you think? Am I turning into a sad old man with prehistoric views?

Everyone's entitled to their own views. Personally, I think that anyone offended by the brief sight of a breast has serious issues of their own. Western attitudes to nudity (I'm talking UK, USA etc here, not Germany, Netherlands etc) are daft. It's amazing how the human race survived so long with all these naked bodies around, isn't it?
There's a BIG difference between nudity and pornography. There are many adverts on pre-watershed TV showing womens' breasts, men's and womens' buttocks. Nudity is only associated with sex because of the prevailing attitudes of those who view it as such. There are millions of tribal Africans, Australian Aborigenes, South Americans etc. who manage to walk around semi or fully naked all day without feeling compelled to shag anything that moves.
By the way, whatever your views on this, do you believe it could have "seriously injured" anyone?

I believe she's claiming damages in the order of billions of dollars...

Now, normally I'm all for a bit of breastage on the telly, but isn't the issue about the way that the boob in question was exposed?
Is it acceptable for a bloke (famous or not) just to rip part of a womans top off in a simulated "without permission" style in the middle of a family orientated sports programme? Even the adverts that are broadcast are appropriate to the audience that are likely to be watching the show that they break up.
Adverts don't contain this kind of pre-sexual violence against women or men unless in a very obvious comedy style, such as on a Lynx advert or similar. Programmes which are likely to contain this sort of content are advertised and scheduled as such. i.e, not in the middle of a family orientated sports programme.
I think if this had been done in a way that was a bit more Disney (i.e. Justin grabbing hold of the bottom of her outfit and pulling, causing her to spin across the stage like a top, to come to rest with her breasts and comedy tassles out for all to see it, and all involved having big "Whooops!" expressions on their faces) it would have been recieved a lot better. I think the shock factor of it appearing that it was 'for real' was what caused the uproar, and then once people worked out it was planned they got 'offended'. People are concerned, rightly or wrongly, that all the little Justin Timberlake fans will be running around thinking it's OK to rip the fronts off women's tops, without their cooperation.
OK, so we all know that's faintly ridiculous, but at the end of the day the situation should not have arisen.
I also think it's wierd, if not a bit twisted, that victim getting all the stick and the aggressor is still the golden boy. That's an even worse message isn't it?
It's not as if it was even a real breast! Bound to be 50% plastic!
Anyway, that's my two penneth, I'm off to watch dirty pop videos.

Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
