Hi guys

You know the oil sensor that comes on when you start the car, the line of 0's that becomes the milometre. Well tonight mine decided to to only reach 1/2 way across, and then this alarm started (which sounded like the alarm you get when you get out and leave the key in the ignition). The alarm wouldnt go off all the rest of the way home, but the oil cant be low or surely the oil temp gauge would be reading higher than normal.

Any ideas?

Trip to the zoo I think.

Yep :( That oil sensor is a common problem. Software update could fix it.

If it's accurate, halfway's fine. It's *meant* to represent the 'safe' area on the dipstick.

Hi all, glad to see that I am not the only one with a dodgy oil gauge! My CC is only 4 months old and it has started to play up. When turning on the ignition instead of squared I get flashing lines. It has been to my Pug dealer and they tweaked and twiddled and it was ok. But alas next day it was back doing the same thing, so along to the dealer again, more tweaking, he said that he had reset the computer and the car needed to reset itself. I left it overnight as instructed-guess what it was doing the next morning - flashing boxes!!!
I give up any one got any ideas on how to sort it yourself as I can't be arsed to go back & forth to the garage.
All ideas appreciated

Hi Clairendec

I had mine fixed yesterday by the pug monkeys. They did a software upgrade on the trip computer, seems ok!

Us peeeps that don't have the "luxury" of Multiplexed cars, don't have all these probs.. :P

Oh and low oil level will not show an increase in oil temperature..
Best to check it on the dipstick anyway, cos the level gauges on either versions of the car are only a basic indicator for the "lazy"..

I had a new probe fitted to my old CC and that sorted it. Don't know what that is though!
