Just replaced the battery in my spare keyfob coz they have been in over 18 months so thought i'd change it, followed the instructions in the manual but it now doesn't lock or unlock/deadlock the car now, the little red light still flashes on the keyfob when the button is pressed :(

should i have started the car up as all it says in the manual is switch the ignition on for at least 3 secs ???

not gonna replace the other battery yet, don't want 2 keys that don't work.

anyone sorted theirs out, HELP :D

I havent change the battery yet, but I will take a quote from my manual in case the manual is different from yours (we have different key type as well but hopefully the programming is same for both model):

"... If the remote control does not work after the battery has been changed, reprogram the remote control...
-switch off the ignition.
-switch the ignition on again.
-Press button A.
-Switch off the ignition and remove the remote control key from the ignition lock. "

1st step say switch off ignition, so i assume that we have to have it on in the first place? Hope it will work :?

In the manual it says that when the battery in the key is getting low there will be a message on the display (presumably the one on the dash).

Has anyone seen this warning :?: Anyone know whether you can rely on it

Sounds as though the ECU has dumped Ur Key Code lyndon..

You need to recode it..

1: Unlock drivers Door. Don't open the door
2: Press and HOLD the the big button on the key. (the led will be flashing)
3: Wait for 20 seconds then press the smaller button on the key
4: LED will stop flashing
5: Release the big button
6: LED remains illuminated
7: Press the big button. The LED will go out
8: Enter the vehicle
9: Hold the key against the ignition switch
10: Press the Big Button
11: put the key in the ignition and switch it ON
12: Wait for 10 seconds
13: Switch the ignition OFF
14: Wait 5 Seconds
15: Reprogramming should be complete.
16: Confirm by locking deadlocking vehicle

Hope that helps
