I actually saw a 307CC yesterday. Although not released here it was at the Sydney Motor Show and was at the City Peugeot dealership for a couple of days. I loved it. I'd be interested to hear what criticisms Top Gear had about it.

As for price the top of the range sports model will sell here for A$69K (that's about 28K pounds)
Cheers

they didnt have any specific criticism apart from the fact that the car is SLOW (even with the 180bhp engine).
they were saying that it's like a fashion accessory, that won't be cool for long that's it.....

 It just doesnt seem to have the character of the 206....saw one at the dealers and it looked plain and boring...as my husband put it `it misses something on its butt'....

The 206cc turns heads...cant see that the 307 would.... :|

Thats your opinion! And you are welcome to it!

But there are an awful lot of 206cc fans here who would disagree with you. I personally like the speed the 206cc gives me, a heavier car with a similar size engine cant compete.

The 206cc has character, the 307cc is just another cabriolet!

I've just bought my second 206 CC, before hand I took a GTi 180 out for a spin and the new 307CC.

Verdict:-

GTi 180 - lovely seats, fast. Basically a nice car but nothing special compared with other similar price spec'd cars. (Civic Type R, 172 Clio etc)

307CC - Truly awful, I'm sorry if you own one but it is. Fat, lardy cars, overpriced. The 138BHp I took out was slower than my missus' Pug 206 1.4! A terrible car, and the 180 won't make a jot of difference. I can honestly say the salesman was red faced, in fact I was embarassed on Peugeot's behalf. Yes it's my opinion, but after 15 years of driving Pugs (namely 205 GTi, 106 GTi, 306 GTi6, 206 GTi and two 206 CC's!) I would consider it a shameful effort, dreadful.

You can bet they will sell well though!
The Peugeot 206 isn't the best car about and it's the best selling supermini!

206 GTi is the most disapointing car i've had but they still sell well.
