Electrical 206CC problems

I had my CC for 10 days and already had to be towed away by car rescue... The problem I had was all electronics inside the car dropped and came back up after a second with beeping noise and warning lights/display of "passenger airbag had deactivated" and "airbag fault". The window wiper sometimes came on by itself after this too. This happened several times before it was completely "gone". After I turned off the engine, I got "engine immboiliser fault" and was unable to use the central locking and start the car. :(

I took it back to the dealer, they said the BSI unit (computer) have lost its memory so they have re-programmed it (after 3 days). According to one of the post in this forum, they probably need to software update the BSI unit but they didn't.

Anyway, I picked up the car today. I am able to start the engine but I am still getting the same problems. My dealer doesn't seems to know anything about this common "airbag/electronics dropped" problem :o , can someone please tell me what they need to do to get it fixed?

Many thanks,

Priss

"passenger airbag had deactivated" and "airbag fault".... "engine immboiliser fault"
My Mar 03 2.0SE CC was fine until last week when I had the BSI updated due to it failing to read the correct fuel level on the guage whilst full. Now I'm getting the same. It must be a fault with this software version, in the last 6 months nothing, now the last two times I've started up have had both of these messages shown followed as you did by the third when I switched off :( I think it needs to go back for a downgrade...

It also locked the doors after I'd got in and shut them!

Slimgym,

Your fault with the fuel level? my car when totally full still only shows about 7/8 full on the gauge, is that what yours was doing?

Yes, that's the one. The garage originally said they would order a new fuel sender but in the end did a BSI download and recalibrated the one originally fitted which cured the problem but of course introduced these other errors..

Fuel guages not showing full isn't usually down to electric problems!!

its a well known problem of a blocked breather pipe.

I can only go by what the monkees say but in this case the BSI download did seem to improve it. The "miles left" gauge on the trip computer was always accurate and to be honest the thing I looked at more than the petrol gauge.

My dealer haven't been able to fix it after updated the BSI unit software and replaced some internal wiring aftward so they have *apparently* replaced the whole BSI unit. I am going to pick it up tomorrow and will see what happen! I've been driving my new car for less than 20 days, I wonder if they have already de-valued my car after all these repairs (including the horn sounded by itself) - it's all in the history isn't that right? :?

I'm going to ring and ask for the BSI code to be reverted to the previous version. The only advantage I got from this verson (and it might all be in the mind) is the car appears a bit nippier now. I'll try and find out what version I had in it before for you.
