Final Concorde leaves Heathrow next week

The last Concorde to be delivered to its retirement home will go to Airbus UK's headquarters at Filton, near Bristol next week.

Alpha Foxtrot will fly from London Heathrow to Filton on Wednesday November 26.

It is scheduled to push back from Heathrow Terminal 1 at 11.20am and will land at Filton at 1pm.

Depending on the weather conditions it is also hoped that Concorde can overfly parts of Bristol and the surrounding area shortly before touching down.

Police are advising people in the South West to head to the Downs area of Bristol, close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, to watch Concorde overfly.

-----------------------------------

Note the change in arrival time from my earlier post. It's doing a 'trip around the bay' of Biscay, en route to Filton.

there will be a Rolls Royce Plc owned Spitfire flying alongside Concorde as it flies to Bristol.

This is reliable info, just hope the director of RR who is flying it foot gets better, silly arse hurt it playing footie.

If not Sara, can your David stand in ;)

Any idea where else would be a good place other than the Downs as I can imagine it will be EXTREMELY busy?

one of my server rooms would be good, well unless they get the final approach wrong as its at the end of the runway

All being well I should be travelling down on Wednesday thanks to work requirements. That actually means I have to deliver an Advent Calendar to one of my staff based in Bristol  - couldnt possibly do it any other days as I am soooooooo busy 8)

Damn - should've seen this post earlier!
You could've brought an advent calendar for me too and i'd have collected it from your server room! ;)

Watched it from the A38, Bedminster Down - thought I was gonna be disappointed, but it came back again - fantastic. :D
