We saw Revolutions on Friday. Some bits of it made my eyes hurt from not blinking. Ace battles as you would expect.
Some bits of it made my brain hurt trying to keep up with the leaps it expects you to just accept (Like at the end of Reloaded when he stops the sentinels in the real world and you go "Huh? Is he still in the Matrix then? Has he got powers in the real world too? Why would he have power in the real world? Has anyone else got powers in the real world? Huh?". If you don't just accept but want to understand then it can be a struggle to think about it and watch the screen at the same time.
I liked it though. I'm not thick, but I would want to watch it again (on DVD) to work out some of the bits that make you go "Huh?"

I think it's suffered from the uber-hype that has surrounded it. The Matrix was a real development in film making, what with all the bullet time stuff, the imagery, the fighting- no film ever had that stuff before. From that point of view M2 and M3 did not have anything new to give to the cinema goer. I can remember when people were raving in the streets about the special effects in the Abyss and T2- now they are so run of the mill that they're used in TV ads, and the films themselves never even get a primetime showing.

Good story though- as long as you like that sort of thing and don't mind a machine vs man story turning into a machine vs man & mystical things story, great special effects, great costumes, great music...
I found it helped to watch Matrix and M2 before going to see M3.
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.
