Hello i am a new forum member but i have always visited the site to keep upto date on what is going on in cc world. I have joined the forum really to let other cc'ers know what recently happened to me and to be aware that life on the open road isn't always sooooo great. Several weeks ago someone walked into my house whilst a car waited outside and they attempted to look for my car keys, fortunately they were disturbed and they ran and drove off. The police said they could have followed me home over a period of weeks and waited for a good opportunity. Needless to say it scared the hell out of me, i haven't written this to scare people but just to warn them. I know it was my fault for not locking the house door that particular evening but i am sure not everybody does - but i do now. U read these things in the paper and see it on television but u never think it will happen to u. Please be careful... and i hope u don't think i am some dark and dismal person, i am not, but i just wanted others to know. Hopefully my other messages will be nice ones and i can get a big star!

I have locked my doors when in for a while now and I also never leave my car keys near the doors. I heard about someone having their keys stolen by a fishing rod through the letterbox! It's is awful to have to be so paranoid but feel it is necessary now. I also don't leave my car keys in the house when I go out I take them with me. My friends recently got burgled and they found the spare keys in the underwear drawer.

I learn't my lesson the hard way with that one, fortunately we were out, but the broke into the house ramsacked the place til they found the keys, which were hidden, then loaded my pride and joy with all my treasures ans was last seen heading down the east lancs. The police saw him and could not keep up. Spoilt a weekend away, my no claims and the £500 I had spent during the week having a super dooper thatcham alarm fitted. I never leave my keys in the house.
