A friend of mine recently had his computer infected by the MSBlaster virus, with all the help and advice posted on here, I was able to sort out his PC and get him up and running again. Of course he now thinks I’m an expert and has asked me to help him set up a website for his business.

I don’t want to disillusion the chap and tell him I haven’t got a clue, :? but it’s about time I learned about web design anyway. So what I want to know from those real experts out there is where can I go to get good advice, what books, websites, software etc should I look at?

We both need to educate ourselves in the art of web design, but if I can keep one step ahead of him then he’ll keep thinking I’m quite clever. I know it will mean that I have to sort out all the problems for him, but is a good way to learn and it makes me feel wanted.

you could try the 'html for dummies' but they are for the very basic's of html, there are various other books/programmes/websites just do serach on google :D

i use good old notepad, that's why there's few errors in me html like not centered pages ;)

most of the programmes out there take all the hard work and sometimes style away from the user but they all start to look like the same website after a while.

if you get stuck i'll try and help out where i can :d

try your local council

Mine are running a web design course through their Adult Education service, I am booked on that starting next month and best of all ITS FREE.
