Has anyone else had MAJOR problems getting spacesavers from their local dealer?? I picked up my CC on 1st March, having ordered (and paid) for my spacesaver in the middle of February. I'm still waiting.....!! After many phone calls to my local Pug dealer, and a steel wheel turning up instead, I've been told that it's arrived, but with no tyre - apparently this could take weeks(!)
I was wondering if anyone else has encountered problems, or if it's just me and pure bad luck?!
Also, could anyone advise me of how to fit a spacesaver in the boot without it moving around???
Ta!!

Hiya, Yep, I had the same trouble too... I ended up buying just the wheel, figuring I'd get the tyre fitted at Kwikfit or whoever...
But they're over £40 and take a couple of days to order... so that's as far as I ever got!
So the deal from Peugeot seems good... but they couldn't get me one for love nor money - I think they must've got the price wrong and are refusing to supply with tyres!

Hi SarCC
I bought a spacesaver tyre and wheel from my Peugeot dealer. It took a couple of days to get into stock but it came as a "wheel" with tyre fitted on etc. Part nos are:
Wheel spare: PT5401G6
Tyre : WSD1
the total cost was £75.10. That was last year though.
I fixed the tyre in the boot by getting some elasticated luggage straps and fitting them criss cross over the tyre to the 4 lashing rings in the boot. Holds it fine and it provides a nice stable area to store breakable bits of shopping!!!!!!!
hope this helps

Thanks for getting back to me. Glad to see I'm not alone with the problem!! I'm hoping that this is not the start of a nightmare, but the car is fantastic, so I guess the spacesaver is just a little hiccup

Hi,
I spent a lot of time sorting it - I have the same problem. The wheel rim is ok and was delivered within 2 days. - The tyre was a struggle for my Peugeot dealer. I tried lots and lots of tyre places for the spacesaver and only 2 could quote, - both could not improve on several weeks on the tyre as they are on back order. Only Pirelli, Continental and Michelin are available.
Prices were between £35 and £45.
Following the failure of the tyre places to sort it out, I have gone back to Peugeot.
Still waiting.
Re Rob's commen about the wheel bolts, the peugeot standard alloy wheel bolts DO fit the Peugeot supplied spacesaver wheel. The wheel is secured on the taper part. The washers which come into play on the alloy will be loose however, and may rattle. This is on our 2002 model. The manual also backs this up.

(Note : be careful if you use a full size spare, the tyres are directional ! - one of the cars at Drayton had the tyres on the wrong sides !! please check)

What idiot at Drayton had the tyres on the wrong way. er that’ll be me then!
I did swap them round last week to keep the wear even but I am sure I did one side then the other, even if they were already like it I cant believe I didn’t notice.
Well spotted Antoni and thanks for letting us know.
Just off to the dealer to get the tyres turned round on the rims - doh.
