Hi all !!,

This is the first time i have logged on since march this year, (been to busy enjoying the weather and driving around with the roof down to get on the computer !!. ) :P

I am so pleased that I took the plunge and bought a CC but there is one small problem, I have had the car 6 months now and I still havent manged to get a factory fitted Radio/ CD player fitted that doesnt loose track of the stored stations in it memory !!. I have had 3 radios fitted in the space of 6 months and will soon be on to my fourth.

Has any one else had a problem with their radios if so how did you get it sorted ?, do I just need to keep hounding the dealers to keep fitting a new radio or is there a better solution ??.

I have had friends who have had these probs with their standard 206's.
It is a common Pug problem. If I were you I would ask them to get you an aftermarket one as it is obvious they can't get it right!
Go kick ass!

Ditto!

I tolerate the problem as it's pretty simple to reset the station. I find it happens every week or so but only one station at a time. I upgraded my speakers and added an amplifier but kept the original head unit as I wanted to keep re-sale simple and also I do like the dash display and wasn't keen to tackle problems with adaptors, etc.

Hi

Had the same problem, the only solution I was aware of was a replacement radio unit. Took 3 attempts before I got one that was ok, also had to have a an ECU software update to resolve other electrical problems.

Dony know if software update makes any difference to radio but might worth checking u r on latest version. My car ws an 02 model.

thanks for the replies all.

Have spoken to head chimp. sorry service manager this morning and he wants the car in for a few days in an attempt to resove the problem once and for all, at least now I can go in there all guns blazing knowing that it is a common problem on a 206.

On top of it all he promised me a full tank of full for the inconvenience its caused !!. I wont hold my breath tho !!

Also have this problem and all my buttons have frozen too, steering controls still work though so I guess I can count myself lucky!

Local dealer kept telling me the problem was noted but no solution, but now they're saying a new batch of radios with a fix is available, so get yours to check, otherwise you might end up letting them have it for a few days only to have to wait for a radio to be ordered :( Waiting for my call to say the radio's arrived. Same time they're going to change the fuel sender so I get a full tank showing when it's full and a software download for the hell of it.

I took mine for a service and some other work. One of things I wanted done was the radio station fault and the CD player fixed as it doesn't accept CD's. because I have 2 amps and a sub and EQ fitted, they won't fix the CD player (under warranty) as I have extra accessories.

Anyone reckon I can get the HU swapped by saying I don't care about the CD player but I want the station fault fixed and, as its a known Peugeot fault, it doesn't matter about the accessories because its an inherent fault?
