Here is the meet report.

The meet was held in Asten in the Netherlands over Friday, Saturday and Sunday of 22nd, 23rd, 24th Aug. Out of the 140 CC’s registered for the event I was the only CC owner from the UK. Other nations represented were from the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, and Austria.

The meeting place was the Nobis Hotel, A large Trust house forte type travel lodge just off the E34 motorway. Most who were attending were staying at the hotel for the weekend.

I was staying at my sisters in Bruge, Belgium for the weekend and as the meet was over the same weekend I decided to go and getaway from the nephews on the Friday and Sunday. It was still 130mile (2hour drive) from my sisters house to the meet.

Friday : Registration for the meet was from 2pm onwards with everyone meeting at 6pm for a ‘games’ session in the car park.

Turned up at 3pm. Not many CC’s there yet. Meet the organisers. Hung around and took pictures. There was a man there who would take dents out of your car’s bodywork. Don’t know how much he was charging.
There were some customised cars on show as well as a 307CC.
At 6pm the car park was full of CC’s approx 50. All seem to have there own mark of individuality stamped on them, like colour coordinated trim or different alloys or a cuddly toy strapped to the roll hoops all was on show. Mine was to have the steering wheel on the ‘wrong’ side. This was most amusing to all the attendants.

At 6pm those competing in the games lined up in their cars to take turn in the party games from the car (see pics) . Being the only UK repetitive I had to join in. I didn’t win L

7pm was a barbeque. I had some food and headed ‘home’ – (2hour drive)

Saturday.

This was the main day of the meet
The plan for the was to have breakfast then go for a drive around the Netherlands. Have lunch all together then continue the drive then return to the hotel at 6pm and have dinner and a knees up at the hotel.

Apparently they had 130 CC’s turn up for this event.

I had a day out with the relatives!

Sunday,

Turned up for the days events starting from 10:30 with a drive through the countryside to Eindhoven and the big ‘UFO’ place you’ll see in the pictures to take group photos.

80 CC’s set off. This was fun, if not also tricky not knowing where to go. Although I had printed directions I had no co-pilot to read them, as it was hard enough remembering to drive on the right. So I just concentrated on keeping up with the group in front. ‘Them Dutch traffic lights are a bugger!’

At the ‘UFO’ site we all took photos. Arranged out cars into colour order and took photos. There was a truck with a raised platform the went 100 foot up. I was cheeky got a ride to take photos from the top. You can see the results on the photos.

Well that was it. After the photos we all went home. I may have left a lot out of this report but you might guess I’m better with pictures and you can always drop me a line if you have any questions.

Enjoy. :D

Sherlock.
