If it is a defect in manufacture then it should be covered. If your dealer says it is dont argue.

Just got the pipes etc fixed, apparently one of them was rubbing on bodywork & burst, waited just over 3 weeks for part, then a few days to organise getting it done, then they had no oil for the system ,so am still waiting after 4 more days. That makes it 5 weeks since the roof failed, & the weather has been pretty good! Waiting to see what the bill is, but am going to kick up stink. Also car off the road for 2 days as the cassette unit where the plugs & leads go failed, havnt had that bill yet either..but i still love my car, just..

Help! This same problem just happened to me this morning. Shirt got covered in hydraulic fluid as I put the roof on manually. Hope the repair can be fixed pronto - the summer in Oz is coming. Any ozzies had this problem?
