I was about to receive my new 206cc today (Fri 19/04/02) but have just been told by my supplier that all the cars in their possession have a problem with the Roof and they will not release any until problem has been sorted out. Obviously I don't know what the problem is technically. They said that the roof would not lock properly and that if they let them out into the streets and one was stolen then Peugeot would be liable.
They said that the problem would be sorted out in 10 days time but I have my reservation after reading all your problems on the Forum. I've read a lot of your articles post here on the Forum so does anyone know what may be wrong with it and how long it may take?
Very worried B4 I've even taken it out of the showroom.

Have you seen the car the suppliers

Perhaps they havent had the cars yet. So are pretending there is a fault so you wont shout at them.

Ask to see the car.

Hi Deb

Can't quite see why there could be a problem with the roof that could make the cc easier to nick. As long as the roof is up (easy to spot) and the clips are place (not mechanical so shouldn't be a problem there)why would it be easier to steal due to a roof problem? Mmm, I'd question them further if I was you. My little one is only four weeks old and he's had no problems at all and I would have thought that they'd have been made at around the same time.

Sorry about your extra wait

Well I think we've discussed just about every sort of problem imaginable on this Forum but I've never heard once about any sort of security breaching roof clip problem, unless it's a rougue batch with faulty components, I'm smelling something very fishy - and it's not because of a fish n chip shop next to your supplier

Well, my roof broke yesterday whilst it was closing it. The left piston blew and leaked oil all over the boot so I had to manually close the roof - not so easy though I did it. However, it is actually possible to pull the boot open (from the roof side) and you could nick something out the boot as its not locked. Also when I drive faster than 5mph I get the nasty beep sound. This is the second time this has happened in 6 months!! Bloody annoying...going to the garage today.
