Hi all

After some really nice person decided to kick my car (why i ask myself) i am in need of a whole new front drivers wing.
I have had a quote from the local pug garage who have quoted me £400. I understand that what with the new wing and then the respray it wont come cheap but just wondered if this is reasonable or whether i should get a few more quotes?

Definitely get a few more quotes. It doesn't seem ridiculously expensive to me, but there's on harm in making a few extra phone calls. Then you can play the garages off against each other to get the best deal.

Always works for me! Got my car service down from £354 to £228 in this way.

You can have mine when the repair cetre has finshed if you like...... think it might be a bit worse off than a kicking though! It does come complete with fetching blue plasters and scraped paintwork.

Price: Free to a good home!!

How nice am I?!!!

make sure they are planning to replace the wing and not just get the dent pulled out and then filled and painted.

Get a written quote and ask for the old wing afterwards. If no wing then dont pay.

do you really need a wing ?

i know it's the best idea but at xmas 1996 my 106 was kicked in along the side damaging the wing, door and rear panel. it was quite bad but i couldn't afford to claim on my insurance due to excess and loss of ncd so i got a local bodyshop to repair it. a quote from a pug bodyshop was £1200 which included replacing panels where required but ended up paying about £570 for getting it filled in.

finish was perfect and you would never have known about the damage. i was a bit sceptical as the car was only 4 months old when it happened but the end result was perfect.
