It happened to me today and as if by magic disappears. Used brakes sounded like wheel rubbing on something. No loss of braking performance though. Car lost balance weight from front Offside wheel at 85mph yesterday. Going in to ATS to get them checked out. Will also check brakes.

May just be brake pads worn out - if they're grindnig you may have worn through to the disks and damaged them which will also need replacing :(

Alternatively it could just have been a bit of grit caught in one of the disks/pads...

No pads were fine but a lot of shit came off of them when I had the balance checked out. All OK now

Grinding noise is back but only happens intermittently. Normally when braking on a Motorway off-ramp also one of my front tyres is wearing out faster than the other one. Checked tracking and is OK - but grinding noise is rather more worrying :(
