Who is your Firm, where would your workplace be, and would your workplace have an armed guard? Could you quit it and come baack if it didn't agree with you?

Yank controlled areas are more dangerous due to the way that they interact (or don't) with the population.

Brit controlled areas are becoming increasingly dangerous too, however, there is a better relationship due to British Forces training and experience in places like Northern Ireland and Bosnia.

I would be wary of going too far from Kuwait- i.e time it takes you to get out of the country by land.
Armed guards are OK, but only if very good (i.e not locals, or yanks ;) ) otherwise they can do more harm than good.

At the end of the day, it depends on how much more money they are offering, and how much time you get off paid when you get back :)

Definitely an experience though.
Just because you're paranoid, it don't mean they're not after you.

it will be based on British Army Camps. They are planning to helicopter us in & out. Still a risk but not as bad as by road.

At the end we get 1 month paid leave and a £5k bonus tax free

For the experience and the excitement i would say probably. Add the month off i would say likely, add the salary increase i would say more than likely, add in the bonus... i'll get my suntan lotion.

It must be reasonably safe where youd to be working, i cant imagine theyd put civilians in danger.

However should anything unpleasant happen to you (god forbid) id feel terrrible for saying you should go. Can you reverse my vote please? :)
Tough decision for you... Good luck!

We're not the people to ask really - what does Mel think? And remember your "at home being a loving perfect husband" line ;) Actually, in my book that means you should go then! But I bet Mel disagrees - and you don't need 25K do you? You're loaded! :D
