Purple haze on windscreen

Ive just ordered an Agean Blue 1.6 Allure and have noticed that the 2.0SE has a purple haze when looking at the windscreen from the outside. Is this standard on all 206cc's or just something about the 2.0SE

2.0SE has a reflective windscreen coating to help reflect out suns rays.

1.6S doesn't have it so that could be it. Also 1.6 misses out on cruise, auto lights (which don't work when it rains unless they come on automatically when the wipers are "activated" in which I didn't know that), auto wipers (which aren't really auto) and climate control rather than aircon. Also looses 28BHP but gains on economy

PS Can I be cheeky and ask if dealers are actually discounting the allure? (A yes/no will be fine

).

1.6 gets the athermic windscreen too - most manufacturers tints are either green or purple - they just dont show that colour in all lights

My auto-lights work in the rain! Whats wrong with your auto-wipers mine work when the sensor gets wet.

I noticed a *BIG* improvment on my automatic wipers after a software upgrade.

Apparently although the allure is available till the end of september, they've stopped making them and all thats left is the stock at various dealerships. I traded in my VW again it so Im not sure if there discounting them. I paid 14995 but got a little bit more for my VW that expected...you know how they work. To be honest the dealers are relucant to discount the allure because it such a good deal against the normal 1.6S or 2.0SE (around Â£1500 worth of extras!)

I opted for 1.6 over 2.0 for better economy and cheaper insurance, not too keen on the 15" Alloys but will probably change them in time.

Looking forward to 1st September

Hi,

I don't have them as I've got 1.6. When I traded in my Fiat Stilo Arbath (which had them too) I'd asked the dealer about them as an option as on the Fiat the autolights came on in the dark but not in rain unless really dark (and not with the wipers) and the wipers only worked if you turned them on first and were a tad erratic and was told that the Peugeot ones were just the same.

Seems they have cured the problems though or perhaps they didn't want me to have them as the car was already on order (without them!) as a demonstrator.

I was just curious has to how much it would impact on residuals (I went for 1.6s with the leather and sports packs and agean blue for an RRP of Â£15,995).

I too went 1.6 for economy reasons and haven't once wished I'd got the 2.0SE. With regards alloys I traded the brand new steel wheels and tyres from mine against my 17's and arranged for them to be fitted by the tyre place at the Peugeot garage before I drove the car!! Got Â£200 for them (so in effect only paid around Â£440 to swap to 17's)

Hope you enjoy it. There good fun and practical too and (touch wood) reliable too no problems here in the first 6,000 miles.

I suspect that as the allure was only availabe for a couple of months residuals will remain as before, the CC is still very popular. This may change in coming months when Diahatsu Copen and Smart Roadster adds to the competition...only time will tell!

Funny you should say that but I'm testing a Smart Roadster at the weekend although nows not a good time to try and p/x mine with the Allure still been about.

I also haven't had the CC long enough yet to be financially wise as its only six months old and I'll will loose pretty much no more money than now if I keep it another 6 months to a year. The CC is a great car though and I can't see me being tempted out of it just yet. (But I do get bored of cars fairly quickly - about 18 months being the absolute longest!)

Smarts not really competition for the CC though as strictly 2 seats and no usable storage and either a part electric soft top (with manual rails) or a full manual hardtop on the coupe.

From all the literature I read although the Smart Roadster has less bhp its light body gives it the equivilent of 110bmp which is the same as the 1.6cc isnt it??

I considered both before I went for the CC, but at around Â£15k+ for a decent model, for your money the CC wins hands down... at least you look like your driving around in a Â£15k+ car!!
